January 11 reading from Matt. 5:17-48

The phrase in v. 17spoke to me, "Do not think..." as Jesus begins to share His teaching on fulfillment of the Law, He cautions His hearers to not make the wrong conclusion about His words. His teaching would fulfill not abolish what God had previously said and revealed in the Old  Testament law. Sometimes I have made the wrong conclusion about what God was saying or doing in my life. O Father, help me to hear correctly as You speak Your Truth and love to make me "perfect" or complete as You are (5:48).

  1. Good Morning fellow BRP people! I have been asking God to give me a daily response to each time in the word and have committed to MEDITATE on it during the day. Please pray for me as I keep this committment. Today I asked the Lord where am I not "ready" to "Tear it OUT"..what is OR may become an area which might cause me to stumble? Lord, I ask you to illuminate the areas in my TIME/HEART'S ATTITUDES,DEEDS,and POSSESIONS. I will seek Your Face in these places to continue to be fully surrendered.

  2. As i read the scripture this morning I could not help but think how Christ didn't come to abolish rules and laws but to fufill/improve upon them. The scriptures are showing me that we need to be continually weeding out those things that keep us from experiencing the fullness of a relationship with Christ. many areas in my life need attention but none more so than my relationships. So glad we are connecting as a church through reading God's word. Begods, In His name, David

  3. Wow! What an awesome moment with the Lord in Matthew 6. The challenge and encouragement to not carry out my relationship with God to be seen by men. He wants to reward us when we obey Him in secret... He is the One who sees in secret (v.18).

  5. This morning as I sought the Lord in today's reading God spoke to my heart so sweetly, "This is my Son, this is who He is!..and this is the way I chose to reveal myself to man..as the compassionate Healer and Teacher." God thank you for still being moved with undeserved compassion for me and being my Good Sheperd.
